VATAT Awards

 

The Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association presents VATAT Awards to recognize members and supporters who have shown outstanding support to Texas agriculture science and FFA programs. Awards are presented during the awards ceremony at the VATAT Professional Development Conference.  

Each area is responsible for selecting its VATAT Award recipients and giving the winning nomination forms to the VATAT area executive committee member at your area convention. The executive committee member is responsible for turning in the area award winning nomination forms at the VATAT Spring Board meeting. Area winners received after the deadline will not be considered.

VATAT Scholarship
 

The VATAT offers scholarships to active members' children upon high school graduation. Scholarship applications must arrive at the VATAT office with a postmark deadline of April 1st. Download scholarship rules and application at the bottom of this page.
 

Best of Texas Awards

This Best of Texas Awards Program sponsored by the Texas Career and Technology Council (TCTC) was initiated to recognize outstanding achievements by students enrolled in career and technology education, and exemplary contributions by business, industry and labor toward viable and lasting public/private sector linkages.  Its mission statement is to unify all career and technology interests in the state of Texas through collaboration, advocacy and leadership. School districts throughout Texas submitted nominations in 11 awards categories.  Applications must be postmarked by March 1. Download awards rules and application at the bottom of this page.    
 

Other Scholarship Opportunities

Texas Young Farmers Scholarship
The State Young Farmers executive board provides several scholarship opportunities for members of the Texas FFA Association. Thanks to the generosity of auction buyers at the State Young Farmers’ convention, the board offers three (3) $1000 and one (1) $2000 scholarships.  The one $2000 scholarship is available to a student applying through the State FFA Scholarship application process.  The other three $1000 scholarships are available to FFA members who attend a high school that also has a state-affiliated Young Farmer chapter. Heritage Land Bank Scholarship
The Heritage Land Bank, a part of the Farm Credit Bank of Texas, provides $10,000 in scholarship awards each year to graduating seniors from east Texas who are planning to major in the field of agriculture. Postmark deadline: March 31.

Texas Big Game Awards College Scholarship 
Any entering college freshman (graduating high school senior), or entering college sophomore or entering college junior pursuing any field of study is eligible to apply for one of over thirty available scholarships. See below for the scholarship application.
