VATAT Membership Registration: VATAT Membership Online is available for teachers to renew their membership or join the Association. Dues may be paid online with a credit card, a check may be mailed to the VATAT office or payment may be made at the conference. Traditional registration will still be available at the conference for those who do not wish to use the online program, but every effort has been made to ensure that pre-registered VATAT members will not have to stand in long lines at the conference. Register online beginning April 1, 2008.
Housing: Housing Information will be available March 1, 2008.
Pre-Conference Certification and Training Workshops, Computer Classes & Tours: Several pre-conference certification and training workshops and tours are scheduled for Monday. These will require advanced registration and payment of workshop fees by June 1, 2008. Registration in the class is not confirmed until payment is made. The sessions will be available only if there is adequate interest according to the pre-registration numbers. Workshops: If you have a workshop idea that you know would benefit teachers throughout the state, please fill out the CALL FOR PARTICIPATION form located on-line. The Conference planning committee will review the forms and make decisions regarding workshop offerings.
Taste of Texas: Vendors will not be serving food during the conference. VATAT will provide a limited number of complimentary box lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Taste of Texas will be held Monday from 1:00pm – 5:00pm in the exhibit hall where vendors that sell edible items will be able to provide samples of their products.
Committee Meetings: Teachers Conference is a prime time for gathering committees to conduct business. Please be aware of your committee assignments and attend the meetings. This is your chance to represent your area and have your voice heard. If you are unsure of your committee assignments, check with your area officers.
Site and Times: The VATAT Conference will be held this summer in Corpus Christi, Texas, July 28 – August 1, 2008. Please note the tentative times and dates for each event. All workshops are scheduled for the American Bank Center unless otherwise noted.
