The Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas is ultimately the professional organization for agriculture science teachers (active membership). However, it also benefits other types of membership including associate, student and honorary life. Members enjoy a multitude of benefits from the VATAT, but perhaps most important is that the Association serves as one voice for all agriculture science teachers and supporters in Texas.
At the VATAT ONLINE! members may renew their membership, new teachers can join and members can update their contact information. Members also have access to a searchable online membership directory of all VATAT members.
Active Membership is for agriculture science teachers currently teaching agriculture education. Active member's dues are paid based on their teaching tenure. For example: a new teacher's dues will be considerably lower than a teacher who has taught for 20 years. Active members receive all VATAT member benefits.
Associate Membership is for individuals who are supporters of agriculture education and the VATAT. You do not have to teach agriculture science in order to be an associate member. Dues for Associate Membership is $60. Membership includes all VATAT benefits, the professional liability insurance which can be purchased separately.
Honorary Life Membership is for VATAT members who have retired from teaching agriculture education with 25 or more years. Honorary Life members do not pay VATAT dues, but they still receive the newsletter and diary if requested.
Student Membership is for college students who are student teaching agriculture education. Student dues are $15 and they receive all VATAT benefits except the professional liability insurance which can be purchased separately.
